Launch event: The Case for Cambridge

Cambridge’s growth is being held back by low levels of infrastructure investment. This event is the launch of an initiative, by a Partnership of 11 key business, academic & public sector organisations, to convince central Government of the city region's vital importance to the UK economy and the need for action to ensure that its growth continues.

Cambridge has a dynamic economy and a proven track record of high value, accelerated growth. It has exceptional characteristics that make it a leader in the development of prosperity for the whole of the UK. The city is at a crossroads, poised for the next wave of growth but held back by a need for infrastructure investment. Public transport is inadequate with chronic congestion on the roads, there is a shortage of housing, and schools are poorly funded.

This breakfast launch event of The Case for Cambridge is an opportunity to hear from the top political, business and academic figures from the city region about Cambridge’s uniqueness and importance to the UK economy, and why action is required from central Government to ensure that the city region’s growth continues. The Partnership of 11 includes Cambridge Ahead, Cambridge Network, One Nucleus, Cambridge City Council and GCGP LEP.
