Cambridge Network and Winning Workplace

On Sunday 20 September 2015 the Cambridge Network Chariots of Fire runners, joined by team sponsor Joy Bemrose, of Winning Workplace, took part along with over 2,000 other participants to complete the famous relay race course through the streets of Cambridge. The race was held this year to raise money for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

Claire Angus ran first, followed closely by Louise Rushworth who then had a battle on her hands fighting through the busy and expectant crowd of waiting runners to find Sarah Gleadell and pass on the baton. Andrea Mitchell ran next, followed by Joy and then Joanna Shilton who valiantly ran last to bring the team in at a total time of 1 hour 25 minutes and 38 seconds.

The all-female collaboration have raised more than their target of £400 for EACH, and you can still sponsor the Cambridge Network Winning Workplace team here.

Chariots of Fire 2015 was organised and managed by Hewitsons Charitable Trust and the other main event sponsor this year was Cambridge News. Sponsorship monies for 2015 were raised for the official recipient charity EACH, who support families and care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.

Since the event started in 1992, Chariots of Fire has raised over £1 million for local and regional charities, with an estimated 6,245 teams having taken part in the race, with approximately 37,470 individual runners pitting themselves against each other.
