Charity benefits from 'Skate and Donate' event next week

Cambridge Business Improvement District (BID) has teamed up with The North Pole Cambridge Christmas Festival to raise money for a local charity. Cambridge BID has chosen EACH (East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices) as their charity of the year for 2015/16 and as part of the collaborative working between Cambridge BID and Icebox, 20% of revenue from ticket sales on the day next Monday (23rd November 2015) will go to EACH.

Becky Burrell, Marketing & Commercial Manager of Cambridge Business Improvement District (BID), official sponsors of the ice rink, said:  “The North Pole Christmas Festival has become an iconic Christmas event which attracts many people from far afield. As an organisation which aims to promote Cambridge city centre to visitors and residents we are proud to be sponsoring this year’s event, as well as helping to raise money for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices. We hope the visitors enjoy visiting the Festival and create some great memories this Christmas.”

The North Pole Christmas Festival is back and back in style, giving you the opportunity to get into the spirit of Christmas throughout the festive season. Featuring an icy extravaganza in the heart of the city centre, this annual festival is centred around a stunning 600m open-air ice rink, great for a fun filled day out with family & friends. Experience interactive side stalls and let us bring out the big kid in you with our traditional fair. Equipped with gifts, children will get their chance to meet Santa and one of his Elves in Santa’s Throne Room.

The festival is made for all to enjoy so no matter what, there is something for everyone. Be tempted by treats from our food offering; smell the sweet aroma of BBQ cooking on the authentic German Swing Grill, traditional German sausage and Bratwurst. Feast on speciality beef burgers, festive turkey & chicken stuffing rolls. Indulge in our crepes, donuts and sweets, hot chocolate & marshmallows and of course, mulled wine and hot cider. Enjoy the new undercover heated Alpine Bar serving festive cocktails, with live music at the weekends.
