Explore Independent Cambridge: The Cambridge Toy Shop

With the recent launch of the third edition of Independent Cambridge - the definitive guide to ‘real’ Cambridge - Cambridge Network resumes its weekly exploration of the best independent shops, cafés, restaurants, venues and events in Cambridge and the surrounding area. This week: The Cambridge Toy Shop.

The Cambridge Toy Shop is a family run independent toy shop right in the city centre which has been delighting loyal Cambridge customers for 11 years! It is a truly fabulous shop offering thousands of toys for all ages from pocket money and party presents to gifts for very special occasions.

Owner Vivienne Watson makes regular trips to toy fairs in London, Birmingham and Harrogate to ensure the shop has all the most up-to-date toys and games, alongside traditional favourites such as the beautiful, handmade Merrythought English bears and a fantastic
selection of wooden toys for younger children and babies.

The Cambridge Toy Shop has probably the largest selection in the city of long standing brands such as Lego, Playmobil, Brio, Orchard Toys, Schleich and Sylvanian Families. Downstairs there is an amazing array of jigsaw puzzles, board games, Airfix models and science kits. Everything from Cambridge Monopoly and Bananagrams, to Corgi cars and Think Fun puzzles. For the more active there are lots of kites and great juggling toys.

To ensure everyone gets the most out of their visit, there is a great team of young people working at the shop (as well as real mums!), ready with useful advice and always willing to demonstrate any of the toys. A loyalty card to earn you a £10 voucher and deliveries by
cycle courier are also available.

Weekends often see face painting and demonstrations, making sure that every visit is a fun-filled one. The Cambridge Toy Shop - the longer you stay the more you find!
