Be an early bird and win a Ghibli for the day with the Star Shine Stroll

Arthur Rank Hospice Charity is delighted to announce that Marshall Maserati of Peterborough has donated the luxury prize of a Ghibli for the day as a prize at one of their flagship events. A draw will be made from those who sign up to the Hospice's Star Shine Stroll before the early bird deadline of Good Friday, 25 March.

This year’s memory walk takes place on Saturday 14 May and the winner of the early bird prize, worth over £300, will be drawn that evening*. Four hundred and one walkers took part in last year’s twilight walk and it is hoped that this super prize will encourage even more to put their best foot forward and ‘shine and sparkle’ as they embrace the 2016 fancy dress theme.

The event, kindly sponsored by Gibbs Denley Insurance Services, has now raised over £255,000 for the Hospice, through the sponsorship efforts of walkers taking part. Arthur Rank Hospice Charity is required to raise £2 million each year, to supplement the NHS contribution and fund care and services needed by more than 2000 patients and their loved ones in Cambridgeshire each year.

Tim Edwards, Brand Manager for Marshall Maserati comments: “We championed the charity in 2015 when we hosted an event raising over £2000 in our showroom and felt this would be a fantastic way to illustrate our support once again. The Maserati Ghibli captures the attention with its emphasis on sporty glamour. Its sleek silhouette wheel arches merge into a single central form, for a more dynamic overall line and just like the first Ghibli launched back in 1967, this car captivates with its strong personality. We know the lucky winner will have a fantastic day driving this wonderful car!”

Event Coordinator Tasha Auburn adds: “This wonderful early bird offer enhances what is already a very well-loved event. Many people walk the 6.5 or 10 mile route in memory of someone they love and might have taken part in previous years, but we’re also warmly welcoming teams and individuals who’ve never before experienced the magical feeling of meandering through historic Cambridge as dusk draws in. Registrations are picking up now we’re into March so don’t put it off: sign up before the Early Bird deadline on 25 March and guarantee your place!”

A £15 registration fee covers event costs including registration packs, hot refreshments, medals and t-shirts. Although there is no threshold to reach, participants are encouraged to try and raise some money for the Charity through sponsorship.

Please visit http://www.starshinestroll.co.uk/register.asp or call 01223 823115 to register. The Charity is also appealing for volunteers for event preparation, marshalling, assistance on the registration desk and catering. If you could like to help please call and ask for Tasha Auburn.

* The lucky winner must have a full driving licence, held for longer than 12 months, with no more than six points and the prize must be claimed by 14.11.16
