The measured man: the next frontier in medical research?

Is the time right for a move from genetic testing and biobanking at specific time-points to continuous, real-time monitoring of individuals? This is the subject of a free seminar in Cambridge on Thursday 7 July 2016 by Professor Bartha Knoppers, Director, Centre of Genomics and Policy, McGill University.

How might the 'measured man' approach affect health systems planning and research, and could it yield vital new information for personalised healthcare?

The lecture takes place from 16:30 -19:30 in the Pavilion Room at Hughes Hall, Cambridge, where Professor Knoppers will consider the potential for a move from static, one off genetic testing to continuous, lifelong genome sequencing and analysis to underpin a revolution in medical research and healthcare.

This event is suitable for all those with a professional or personal interest in medical research and personalised healthcare, including the wider legal, ethical, social and policy implications of new developments.

Delegates will have the opportunity to network and continue discussion during a drinks reception taking place immediately after the lecture.

Places at this free event are limited.
