Something for everyone at Cambridge Network’s September Recruitment Event

If you're in the market for a job, a career move or a change of direction, Cambridge is the place to be. Find out why at Cambridge Network's Recruitment Event on Friday September 16th.

There will be hundreds of jobs available in the room and there is literally something for everyone.

Not only is Cambridge a thriving centre of innovation and new technology, it is also the best place in the UK to work, according to recent research by Glassdoor1.  It is arguably the best place to find a job too:  the job site Adzuna2 has just published a report that says: "Cambridge won the title for best city in the UK to find a job – based on job competition rate – with 14 jobs available per every jobseeker."

That statistic is borne out by the growing number of vacancies advertised on Cambridge Network's popular jobs board, Recruitment Gateway, and by the fact that more than 20 local employers are clamouring to attend the Network's Recruitment Event in September

“There will be hundreds of jobs available in the room,” says Claire Angus, Head of Recruitment Gateway, “and there is literally something for everyone.”

Despite the Cambridge region's reputation for high-tech – and of course there are many software, engineering, science and technical vacancies – there is a remarkable breadth of opportunity, with roles in sales, marketing, administration, HR, finance, communications and legal also on offer.

Candidates attending the event, from 12 noon to 4pm at The Hauser Forum (Entrepreneurship Centre, 3 Charles Babbage Road, Cambridge CB3 0GT) have the option to participate in a series of employer presentations and workshops for jobseekers at all levels. These will be delivered at half hour intervals by the event's headline sponsor, TTP plc, and by fellow sponsors Amazon, Domino Printing Sciences and the Royal Society of Chemistry. They will all offer insight into their application and assessment processes, and provide advice for potential applicants on how to be successful.  Agency sponsor polkadotfrog will also be on hand, with a variety of jobs on offer.

Companies featured include Marshall Aerospace and Defence Group, Blacktrace Holdings, IT Governance, PA Consulting, Pico Technology, Cosworth, DisplayLink and Xaar, among others, which means vacancies available are not confined to Cambridge itself, but encompass Royston, St Neots, Ely and beyond.

The event is not purely for jobseekers. It will also benefit anyone not currently in the job market but keen to find out more about the culture, values and working environment of local organisations. People are encouraged to come along to discuss opportunities with company representatives, including senior personnel and line managers they might not otherwise have the chance to meet.

This free event is open to all. Candidates are requested to sign up to attend - find out more and book your place here.
