Strategic managers: could you benefit from peer learning?

Are you a senior manager whose role involves strategic thinking? Are you responsible for managing change in your organisation, perhaps following a merger or acquisition? If you would value the opportunity to talk to like-minded people in an informal, confidential setting, then consider joining Cambridge Network's Strategic Managers peer learning group.

With the latest cohort due to kick off at the end of January, this group typically attracts people in roles such as Chief Operations Manager, Head of Marketing, Programme Manager, Senior Project Manager, CIO, Senior R&D Manager or Scientist. As well as managing teams, you are likely to report to the CEO and have work which involves both an element of strategy and a high level of importance, as issues you tackle tend to have far-reaching consequences.

Peer learning is the ideal environment to get things off your chest and to benefit from the experiences of others who may have encountered similar situations - dealing with HR, managing awkward projects and people, or succession planning.

Cambridge Network's dedicated training division, the Learning Collaboration, runs a number of facilitated peer groups, aimed at bringing together individuals from different organisations who are usually on a parallel in terms of career progression.

Louise Rushworth, who organises the Learning Collaboration peer groups, says: "The new sessions are due to start on January 19th (a change from the November date due to illness) and we still have a few places available.  Feedback from previous groups has been incredibly positive, with delegates remarking on the value of objective comment from others in a comfortable, friendly environment.  Several have returned for more than one year.

"We'd like to hear from anyone who would like to take advantage of the opportunity to join," she adds.
