This appointment follows an earlier internal announcement by Steve Fitz‐Gerald that he will be standing down from that role after six years with the Company.

Alistair McPhee will be joining Marshall on Monday 9 January.

Announcing Alistair’s appointment, Robert Marshall, Group Chief Executive at Marshall of Cambridge (Holdings) Ltd, said: “I am delighted that Alistair McPhee is joining Marshall to build on the tremendous work which Steve has done since he joined in 2011.”

Robert Marshall continued: “Alistair joins us from Thales UK where he has been leading their Ground Transportation business. During his time there Alistair has transformed the operation and grown that company's reputation for customer collaboration and excellence in delivery and service support, which are equally important to Marshall. He also secured the £1 billion contract from Transport for London for the 4 Lines Modernisation Programme to upgrade the train control infrastructure for the Metropolitan, District, Circle and Hammersmith & City Lines.”

Alistair McPhee also has more than 20 years’ experience in the defence sector including a five year period with BAE SYSTEMS Marine and fifteen years with Thales Optronics.  In addition to his many years working with the MoD, and civil UK regulated customers, he has also worked extensively with overseas customers, particularly in the US, Europe, Australasia & the Far East.  Prior to re‐joining Thales UK, Alistair was Managing Director of Invensys Rail Systems.

Commenting on his appointment, Alistair McPhee said: “Since childhood I have been drawn towards aviation and I am excited, after all this time, now to be leading one of the UK’s most respected aerospace and defence businesses.”
