Under the leadership of high profile UK tech entrepreneurs, the 33 firms will work together to ‘scale fast, scale together’. This year’s mentors include founders from Just Giving and Lastminute.com. The programme is backed by Amazon Web Services, Tech City UK and Silicon Valley Bank.
Joe Parry, CEO and Founder of Cambridge Intelligence, attended this morning’s launch at Somerset House. He explained what he hopes to get out of the opportunity:
“Cambridge Intelligence has 80% growth year on year. By listening and learning from people who’ve scaled companies before, we can accelerate that growth. Joining Upscale should give us the advice and focus we need, and we’re really looking forward to the program.”
Cambridge Intelligence is one of four data and analytics companies in the scheme. Others in the category include Streetbees, Signal Media and Cambridge start-up GeoSpock. The majority of this year's cohort come from the London high-tech scene, with seven coming from outside the capital.
