The outdoor film screenings will kick off with the cult classic, Grease starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton John, on Friday 19 May from 8-10pm.  There will be no charge for entry and deckchairs will be provided.

A Night Market, showcasing local businesses, will offer an enticing mix of food, beverages and gifts.  Visitors are encouraged to arrive from 6.30pm onwards to browse the stalls, make their purchases and find a seat before the film begins.

“Nothing beats open air cinema for an atmospheric night out with friends,” says Becky Burrell, Marketing and Commercial Manager at Cambridge BID. “We are aiming to create a relaxed, friendly event that everyone can enjoy – pink jackets and hair gel optional!”

“We were very excited when Cambridge BID got in touch with us; their idea of organising an event for the Market Square area is excellent and we are really pleased that we were invited to bring what we love doing into the mix of something new and fresh for Cambridge nightlife,” adds Eleanor Lyons of The Star and Mouse Picture Show.

“This is a great opportunity for Cambridge residents and visitors to experience the market in a fun, friendly and relaxed environment. We’re delighted that local charities and businesses, as well as many traditional market traders, will have the opportunity to showcase their offer in a different setting,” says Dan Ritchie, Marketsand Street Trading Development Manager at Cambridge City Council.
