Insight Series at Future Business Centre welcomes inspiring speakers for a ‘fireside chat’

As the Allia Future Business Centre launches its ‘Insights with an Entrepreneur’ series across the coming weeks, it is delighted to welcome two inspiring speakers from across two very different business sectors – mental health and behavioural analytics.

Matt Gooding, Cambridge News Business journalist, will be asking the questions in this series of early evening talks – a ‘fireside chat’ format which allows the audience to delve into the mind of an entrepreneur and find out what makes them tick, what drives them and what kind of person it takes to lead the crowd, to make change and lead innovation across the Region and beyond.

The series welcomes Barnaby Perks, IESO Digital Health on Thursday 29th June, followed by Martina King, Featurespace on Wednesday 5th July.  Both events start at 6.15pm and are followed by networking and drinks.

Barnaby Perks, IESO Digital Health – Thurs 29 June  6.15pm

Barnaby Perks is an engineer who has specialised in the commercialisation of healthcare technology.  Following a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and Economics and MSc in Biomedical Engineering, both from the University of Dundee in Scotland, he started his career in NHS hospital-based academic research at the University of Dundee before working in small business start-ups developing assistive technology products for people with complex disabilities.  After leading the trade sale of two health technology businesses, Cambridge Adaptive Communication and GEWA UK, he transferred into a Global Strategic Marketing role with GE’s geospatial information software business.  Barnaby joined Ieso Digital health (then PsychologyOnline) as CEO in January 2011, raising investment to start the company’s commercial journey following successful publication of clinical trial data in The Lancet.  Barnaby has grown Ieso to become a significant provider of NHS-commissioned mental health services, delivering high quality, clinically validated and cost effective therapy.

Martina King, Featurespace – Wed 5 July  6.15pm

 Martina is CEO of Featurespace and joined the company in 2012. Former Managing Director of augmented reality company Aurasma, Martina has an extensive career in media technology, including leadership roles at Yahoo! Europe and Capital Radio. Martina is non-executive director of Debenhams, and was named one of the Top 40 powerful women in tech by Silicon Republic.
