For the second event, which will begin at 6.30pm, Cambridge BID has organised screenings of the classic children's animated film Toy Story’ and the smash-hit musical 'Mamma Mia', outside the Guildhall. There is no charge for entry and seating will be provided on a first-come-first-served basis.

More than 50 local businesses are expected to set up stalls for the evening market, creating a continental-style al fresco shopping experience for residents and visitors to the city.  A broad selection of food and beverages will be available, as well as stalls selling gifts and clothing.

“We are seeking to create a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that everyone can enjoy.  This time round we have booked a special LED screen that will be visible both in daylight and as night falls, which will allow us to show two films,” said Becky Burrell, Marketing and Commercial Manager at Cambridge BID.

“Our early screening of Toy Story is aimed at families who want to celebrate the start of the school holidays.  Then adults can be transported from Market Square to a Greek island in the sun, with our feel-good screening of Mamma Mia.”

Toy Story is expected to start around 6:30pm and Mamma Mia will follow at 8:30pm, giving visitors plenty of time to browse the market, select some food and find a seat.

“The first night market was a resounding success; it was wonderful to see so many people come out for the evening. Everyone made the most of the family-friendly atmosphere, enjoyed the live entertainment and appreciated the fantastic wares of many local stallholders. Similar events for August and September are already being planned, in association with the City Council, and we will be announcing these soon,” added Becky.
