The competition back in March was the first of the British eventing calendar, proving a great success despite adverse weather leading up to it.

Among nearly 400 riders at Whitehall Farm Event Complex were Britain’s number one ranked horseman Ollie Townend and previous Grand Slam of Eventing winner Pippa Funnell.

One rider said: “As always the course was super, the ground absolutely amazing and the volunteers helpful and cheerful! There’s always a super atmosphere and we were lucky the sun came out on the Saturday, too. This is our third year running at Isleham and we’re never disappointed.”

As well as high class performances, spectators were able to enjoy trade stands and refreshments ranging from Italian coffee to sweet and savoury crepes.

Karen Newton, EACH Cambridgeshire Fundraising Manager, said: “Credit to the organisers for staging such a fantastic event for spectators as well as competitors, and thanks to them for choosing to support EACH.

“The money raised will help us continue care for children with life-threatening conditions across the region and support their families.”

EACH gives families the best in the worst possible situation and its services are currently accessed by 232 children, young people and family members in Cambridgeshire.
