Cambridge Night Market and outdoor cinema returns with an Oscar-winning line-up

Cambridge Business Improvement District (BID) is delighted to announce details of the final Cambridge Night Market of the Summer, which will take place on Friday 29th September in association with Cambridge City Council.

The hugely popular family event once again includes an outdoor cinema, this time screening an unbeatable Oscar-winning line up of Toy Story 3 at 18:15pm followed by La La Land at 20:15pm.

The final installment of the Toy Story trilogy won the Oscar for Best Animated Picture at the 2011 Academy Awards and is a guaranteed children’s film favourite. La La Land - starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling – scooped Six Oscars, including Best Actress and Best Director, at the award ceremony earlier this year.

As with previous screenings, this is a free event in Market Square, outside the Guildhall. Limited seating (camping chairs) is provided on a first-come-first-served basis – but owing to the popularity of previous events, moviegoers are recommended to come early and/or bring their own portable chairs.

The Night Market will once again feature more than 50 local businesses and pop-ups selling a variety of traditional street foods and beverages from around the world - including Brazialian feijoada (black bean stew) from Neide’s, Dutch poffertjes (mini pancakes) from Kerief Catering, Algerian delicacies from Mediterranean Falafal and choice offerings from the Cambridge Scotch Egg Company. La Raza Events will also be providing a fully licenced cocktail bar.

Ian Sandison, Chairman of Cambridge BID, said: “Whatever the weather, the Night Market and Outdoor Cinema have proved a huge hit with the local community and its businesses and visitors throughout the Summer. This may be the last event of the season - but there is clearly a huge demand for similar family-friendly, community-spirited events in the heart of Cambridge – and we will be responding accordingly with a new schedule of fun events in due course. Meanwhile, we look forward to seeing lots of familiar faces as well as new ones on the 29th.”
