Explore Independent Cambridge: Cambridge Classics

With the help of Independent Cambridge - the community of ‘real’ Cambridge - Cambridge Network continues its weekly exploration of the best independent shops, cafés, restaurants, venues and events in Cambridge and the surrounding area. This week: Cambridge Classics.

If you own a period house, then you will no doubt love the original features you get in these types of properties. Cosy open fire places, pretty cornice detailing, and original fixtures and fittings are all part of the picture. Another important feature – both from the inside and outside – are traditional period windows. Sadly, some of these have been replaced with less than attractive alternatives or, over the years, the original windows are now in need of some TLC. If this is the case, then it’s time to give Cambridge Classics a call.

Cambridge Classics is a family owned and managed business – based in the heart of the city and with over 15 years’ experience and knowledge behind them. The current directors are husband and wife team Camilla and Stuart Carter who head up a dedicated team of carpenters and decorators who work closely with trusted local suppliers.

From traditional windows including sash, casement and Norfolk slider through to classic bespoke doors and interior and exterior decorating, Cambridge Classics aims to provide all these with the highest level of quality and service. And they’re not just about the looks. The double-glazed windows are made using energy-efficient glass and the space between the glass is filled with Argon gas which saves heat loss through the glazing. This also means less noise coming in from outside, so you can truly enjoy your period home in comfort!
