How to hire and manage people in China

Attracting and retaining talent continues to be one of the main challenges facing foreign companies operating in China. At a free event later this month, Chinese business experts will discuss how to find the talent you want and build a multi-cultural team across the UK and China.

It is advisable to hire local talent to grow your business in China.   However, research shows that only about 10% of Chinese graduates are suitable to work for a Western business.

With fierce competition for skilled bilingual labour and rapidly inflating salaries, attracting and retaining talent continues to be one of the main challenges facing foreign companies operating in China.

Join the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) and Cambridge-based Crayfish.io  on Thursday 28th June at the CBBC (Portland House, Bressenden Place, London SW1E 5BH) for a roundtable discussion led by Chinese business experts and focused on:

  • the most effective channels to recruit the talent you want
  • what to expect of job applications and how to spot the real talent
  • the motivational factors that influence the Chinese workforce, especially the young generation, to create the bonds of loyalty
  • Chinese staff in a social and cultural context; how to build a multi-cultural team across the UK and China
  • the alternatives to a traditional talent hiring and management approach.
