Events team set for success with business development role

Robinson College, Cambridge, has appointed Paul Coleman to business development manager to support the College’s strategic vision of becoming a leading event venue in the UK.

Coleman will bring over 25 years of sales experience to this newly formed role, with an abundance of national, international, B2C and B2B expertise. He will look to proactively bring new business to the College’s events team, as well as secure increased revenue for the Crausaz Wordsworth Building.

Commenting on his new role, Coleman said: “I am joining a team of exceptional calibre, as affirmed by the College’s recent AIM gold award, and I feel privileged to have been given this opportunity to continue driving Robinson College’s event business forward. I’m excited to take on this challenge, and to start building strong and long lasting relationships with meeting and event organisers.”

Alexis Moreau, conference and catering manager at Robinson College, said: “The College has continued to refine its offering over the last five years, enabling it to become a leading conference and events venue in Cambridge. As a team, we’re extremely proud of what we do, and are continuously striving to promote the services we offer. This newly created role will be pivotal in building relationships and communicating our offering and, with his experience, Paul is perfectly equipped to take this on.”

Robinson College is one of Cambridge University’s most modern colleges, and offers versatile event space to cater for conferences of all sizes and themes. The College has once again achieved the prestigious AIM accreditation at gold level – the MIA’s highest accolade – for excellence in its meetings and events service. It remains the only college, out of the 31 Cambridge colleges, to have achieved the award.
