Law firm Stone King raises more than £5,400 for CLIC Sargent

A charity partnership between law firm Stone King and CLIC Sargent saw staff raise £5,400. Raffles, pub quizzes and a lucrative Sober October were among the team efforts to raise as much as possible for the UK’s leading charity for young cancer patients and their families.

Collection pots were a fixture in Stone King’s five national offices, including its base at Thirty Station Road in Cambridge, and an office clear-out saw furniture exchanged for charitable donations. A Stone King team tested their nerve and pushed themselves by completing the Snowdon Triple Challenge, while all offices took on hump day by donning colourful wigs in a Wig Wednesday fundraiser.

Solicitor Nicole Reed, who chairs Stone King's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team, says: “We organised a number of fundraisers, large and small, throughout the year and individuals also raised impressive amounts through brave physical feats such as a Boxing Day dip in the North Sea by one of our partners. We’ve had some fun but most importantly we are delighted that the firm has pulled together to raise these funds for CLIC Sargent, our charity of the year. The organisation’s work is vital to supporting children and young people affected by cancer and their families.”

Rachel Webster, Fundraising Engagement Manager at CLIC Sargent, says: “CLIC Sargent are so grateful for Stone King’s support throughout this year. The staff have shown true commitment to young lives facing cancer and have put the fun into fundraising with their creative ways of raising this fantastic amount! Thank you.”

CLIC Sargent Social Workers, Nurses and Play Specialists all make up part of a care team which children and young people with cancer can rely on for support. Stone King’s support could help fund five CLIC Sargent Nurses for a week. They will visit young cancer patients at home or in school reducing the amount of time they have to spend in the hospital away from family, their education and their friends.
