Training: commercial patent search and analysis, and why IP matters to your business

On 18 October 2018 CIIPM (Cambridge Intellectual Property Meeting) returns with a training day in two parts, exploring patent analysis techniques and the importance of understanding and using intellectual property relevant to your business. Cambridge Network members enjoy a 15% discount - but spaces are limited.

The CIIPM October training day is kindly supported by the IPO, Mathys & Squire and Minesoft, and will be delivered by CIIPM founders Jane List and Stuart Newbold, as well as James Pitchford of Mathys & Squire.  The day will be split into two sessions (with a special rate available if booking a ticket for both):

Commercial Patent Search and Analysis (Morning)

This session will provide an overview of search and analysis techniques to enable use of patent information for business decision making. The session will cover:

  •  Technology, market landscape, and competitor landscaping
  •  Constructing and performing business focussed patent searches
  •  Analysing, understanding, and reporting on results
  • Tailoring searches to specific business questions, budgets and timeframes.

Spaces for this session are limited to 15 so there will be plenty of time for discussion and questions. Each business question requires a different approach to patent search and analysis. This session aims to provide you with an understanding of options available, and help you to create, perform, and comprehensively report on IP information relevant to your business questions.

Tickets: Cambridge Network Members also eligible for a 15% discount using the discount code: CNET15

More info and tickets available on the CIIPM website.

IP Matters (Afternoon)

This session offers a detailed exploration of what IP is and why it matters. During the session we’ll cover:

  • The different types of IP protection available
  • The importance of ‘know how’ and when to keep it a secret
  • How to understand published patent information and to find the legal status of third party IP
  • Basic patent and trademark availability search

Including patents, trademarks and copyright to navigating patent office websites and understanding the information available to you, this session aims to provide a thorough introduction to the world of IP and to ensure you can protect your innovations and successfully build your IP portfolio.

Earlybird tickets available to 30 September. Cambridge Network Members also eligible for a 15% discount using the discount code: CNET15
