Charity keen to build on early support in Soham

Having opened a shop in Soham at the end of last year, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) is looking for enthusiastic and committed volunteers from the area to help the charity raise more vital funds and awareness.

EACH has 12 friends groups across the region that organise and support exciting events and fundraising activities, and now hopes to develop a similar group in Soham.

Ellen Bing, EACH Cambridgeshire Community Fundraising Assistant, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to work and make friends with likeminded people, put existing skills to good use and develop new ones, and support the work EACH does caring for children and young people with life-threatening conditions, and also supporting their families.

“We know our new shop in Soham’s been well supported, so we’re keen to see whether this can be developed into a group of enthusiastic ambassadors and volunteers.”

EACH currently offers care to 128 children and young people across Cambridgeshire, and provides support for 89 family members.

Volunteers receive assistance and guidance from their closest EACH fundraising team, a monthly newsletter to keep them up to date on all the charity’s news and access to special thank you events.

EACH is organising a get together at Soham Methodist Church for anyone interested. This will take place from 1.30pm on Thursday, 21 February. RSVP to Ellen on 01223 204916 or at ellen.bing@each.org.uk. Anyone unable to make it or who would like to know more beforehand is also encouraged to contact Ellen.
