Cambridgeshire companies have collaborated to create a new online portal for candidates to learn about job opportunities and apply for the latest vacancies.
Recruitment Gateway, an initiative from Cambridge Network, is a direct response to demands from members. The Network's CEO, Claire Ruskin, says: "We all want to ‘raise Cambridge’s game’ by promoting the region as a location of choice for jobseekers from around the world."
As a result, Recruitment Gateway has replaced the passive jobs board that Cambridge Network has successfully operated in the past.
For employers it offers a sophisticated new web-based tool that will enable companies to advertise vacancies and manage applications seamlessly from their own website back offices. To help employers find and attract the best quality candidates, the Recruitment Gateway team will be actively promoting Cambridge, nationally and internationally, as a destination of choice for potential employees.
For jobseekers at all levels, Recruitment Gateway provides a single port of call to find the region’s latest vacancies. It also provides local insight, with important information on company cultures and useful tips on living and working in Cambridge - covering topics such as relocation, accommodation and local facilities.
The portal is aimed at new graduates, interns and administrative staff, as well as seasoned professionals. It is intended to improve the flow of quality candidates to the region’s recruiters.
Cambridge Network members who have championed the project include the leading microprocessor pioneer ARM, mobile technology provider Bango, wireless technology leader CSR, software tool developer Red Gate Software, content delivery technology provider Velocix, and specialist RFID consultancy IDTechEx. Several other member companies signed up to the Recruitment Gateway Terms & Conditions in advance of it going live, with more joining as the benefits are seen.
Costs will be covered by making a small sign-up charge for businesses and by charging appointment fees when vacancies with salaries over £30,000 are filled. The first appointments come without charge.
