Engineering Project Manager

We design scalable, energy efficient-processors and related technologies to deliver the intelligence in applications ranging from sensors to servers, including smartphones, tablets, enterprise infrastructure and the Internet of Things.

Job Overview:

Arm processors are the brains in billions of diverse electronic devices! Our Solutions Engineering group defines, designs and validates the next generation of test chips and sub-systems that bring all of Arm's IP together. As a project manager within the SE group you'll be responsible for planning, scheduling and tracking projects that deliver groundbreaking solutions IP to the world’s leading technology companies. You will work alongside diverse, highly skilled and motivated engineering development teams who are based locally and abroad.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering pioneering, next generation products by working alongside engineering management, technical leads, program and product managers.
  • Crafting project plans and schedules, then managing and supervising the project to ensure it delivers to time, on-spec, and to the highest standards of quality.
  • Leading teams to identify the project, technology and business risks associated with the project, then handling those risks to minimise their impact.
  • Working with other Arm teams across the world, planning and aligning dependencies that are critical to enabling Solutions Engineering projects and programs.
  • Collaboratively communicating project status, risks and issues to senior management, aided by your engineering managers and technical leads.
  • Contributing to improvements in project processes and tools to improve efficiencies and effectiveness.

Required Skills and Experience :

  • Project management experience in one or more of the following: IP development; silicon development; FPGAs; development boards.
  • Demonstrable understanding of various approaches to project scheduling.
  • Ability to lead, monitor and motivate design engineers alongside technical engineering leads.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to enable good working relationships within the development team, and networking in a geographically disparate organisation.
  • Professional demeanour, with strong attention to detail, process oriented and organised.

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :

  • In-depth understanding of risk management.
  • Experience in various project planning tools such as Jira and MS Project.
  • Base knowledge of budgetary control, quality assurance, project workflows and project/program governance.
  • Working within complex programs.
  • PMP certification.
