About the Role:

This is an exciting time to join ARU and an outstanding opportunity to help shape the future direction of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Education and Social Sciences. Over the last five years we have grown significantly by seizing opportunities and responding to national priorities and needs of our local partners. Our new Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Education and Social Sciences will provide strategic leadership and management for the Faculty across education, research and innovation and external engagement. Candidates will be able to evidence a compelling academic profile and track record of research in a discipline relevant to the Faculty. Candidates must have credibility with key stakeholders and have substantial experience of building and maintaining external relationships with employers, professional bodies, and other key stakeholders.  A PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area is essential.

This is a professorial appointment. Individuals joining us from another UK university, already holding the title of Professor awarded by that university, will have that Professorship recognised, subject to ratification by the Vice Chancellor.
