At our ARU Writtle campus, we specialise in animal, environmental, agricultural and horticultural courses, for learners aged 16 to 18, adult learners, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

 

About the Role:

Our new Student and Library Services help desk at ARU Writtle is opening to students in September and we are looking to recruit two colleagues to join a new team of Student and Library Services Advisers. The team will provide help, advice and guidance to students across a broad range of student support and library topics face-to-face and via phone, email and online chat, plus act as a triage point for other university services.

 

The role also includes advising customers on the use of library resources, study spaces, IT equipment and software as well as contributing to a range of administrative tasks which are key to student support and library services.

 

Occasional Saturday working will be required to support open days. Weekly evening work (Monday - Friday) may also be required on a rota basis.

 

With two A Levels or a vocational qualification at level 3 or equivalent, you will have significant experience of working in a customer service environment, working successfully as part of a team and experience of administrative work using complex information systems. You will have excellent customer service skills, including being calm under pressure, be IT literate (with a sound knowledge of Microsoft office) and demonstrate attention to detail. Experience of working in an office or library environment in higher or further education is desirable.
