Lord-Lieutenant presents Domino with Queen’s Award for Innovation

Domino Printing Sciences, based at Bar Hill, this week welcomed The Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Julie Spence OBE QPM DL and Deputy Lieutenant, Michael Williamson DL to its headquarters. After a tour of the coding and marking manufacturer’s premises, the Queen’s Award for Innovation was presented to a team of Domino staff.

The company was given the Award in recognition of its A-Series i-Tech range of industrial continuous ink jet printers which have increased customer efficiency and driven market share growth.

The A-Series i-Tech range of printers have been designed utilising significant advances in innovation and technology, changing the standards of performance and operation, leading to enhancements in the cleaning and servicing of printers, handling waste, reducing ink usage and optimising print quality.

Nigel Bond, CEO of Domino Printing Sciences said: “We are honoured and proud to have been selected for a Queen’s Award for Innovation and delighted to welcome The Lord-Lieutenant and Deputy Lieutenant to our headquarters today.

“This really is a great tribute to our skilled and talented team who have worked on the A-Series and i-Tech ink system which is proving so popular with customers across the world and delivering real benefits to their operations. It was therefore appropriate  that the Award was received by a team of our employees, on behalf of the entire company.”

This is Domino’s sixth Queen’s Award since its incorporation in 1978. The previous Award was for Continuous Achievement in International Trade in 2012.

Following the presentation, staff celebrated the occasion with a barbecue and Queen’s Award-themed cupcakes.
