Sepura reports record results

Sepura, the UK listed provider of critical communications supplying digital radio equipment to the emergency services and private sector, has issued its full year results today.

The Company has overcome foreign exchange headwinds and issues with a Greek public sector contract to post record revenues and its fourth consecutive year of double digit earnings growth, breaking into the Saudi Arabian market with a big public safety network contract order of 70,000 radios.

Separately, it has also announced the appointment of Richard Smith as CFO. Richard is currently CFO at Imagination Technologies and his appointment reflects the work underway at Sepura to extend management capabilities as the business grows.

FY15 highlights:

  • Revenues up 12% to €131.2 million
  • 20% increase in adjusted operating profit to €15.0 million, despite FX headwinds and exposure to the Greek market
  • Adjusted diluted EPS increased by 15%
  • 20% increase in the dividend to 2.4p
  • Record closing year-end order book of €41 million

Staying at the cutting edge of technology in its sector, Sepura launched its most advanced product this year – an updated radio/communications platform which features LTE/4G, RFID, Bluetooth and WiFi capabilities. Essentially, the Group offers a one stop shop with the ability to provide radios and the networks they run on to companies and whole countries alike. The year to date has also seen Sepura carry out the biggest M&A transaction in its history, the acquisition of Teltronic, where it raised a mixture of debt and equity to fund the €127.5m deal.

Sepura is now poised to scale its business and break into the lucrative US market, installing worldwide critical communications infrastructure to an addressable market worth $3.3 billion. The business has a record closing year-end order book of €41 million, having shipped 217,000 radios last year.

It has picked-up some interesting mandates of late, such as next year’s Rio Olympics 2016, Disneyland Paris, Malaysia Airports and the last FIFA World Cup.
