Cambridge Arts Theatre

The Cambridge Arts Theatre is an independent theatrical charity, founded in 1936 to ensure that the students and citizens of Cambridge could benefit from the transformative power of the arts. The theatre has since become known for its bold and ambitious creative choices and for launching the careers of some of the world’s greatest performers and cultural icons. Fast forward ninety years and today, the Arts Theatre is a thriving regional showcase for drama, dance and opera, a beacon for the development of arts professionals, and a much-loved regional venue delivering a diverse annual programme of over 350 shows to the people of Cambridge and the wide region.

Play your part by becoming a Business Partner today!

Our Corporate Partners play an essential role in supporting us to fulfil our charitable mission and to offer a theatre for everybody. Whether your interest is in connecting with our audiences, raising your company profile, entertaining clients, or rewarding staff, we can tailor a partnership to support your business need from a  menu of benefits:

  • Tickets and VIP opportunities for your clients and staff;
  • Events and hospitality, including backstage tours and private events;
  • Advertising, marketing, and branding opportunities to raise your profile;
  • Acknowledgement of your logo in our brochures and supporters' boards;
  • Supporting the Arts Theatre and promoting your company as a responsible and charitable business championing local arts organisations.

Every year at the Arts Theatre, we present 375 performances of world-class theatre and welcome 150,000 theatre-goers through our doors. Our venue's capacity is 666 and we run approximately 40 productions across the year. Our mission is to bring people together to inspire and celebrate the power of live performance. We are a dynamic and inclusive space where diverse stories are told and shared. Many of Britain’s most influential theatrical figures have launched their careers on the Arts Theatre stage including Ian McKellen, Emma Thompson and Derek Jacobi. We continue to attract the very best actors and directors to our stage and provide a diverse range of high-quality performances from companies such as the National Theatre, The Royal Court, The Globe and The Royal Shakespeare Company.

As a complement to our programme, we provide a broad range of educational and outreach activities. Every year, 100,000 school children and family audience members attend a show at our theatre. The strength and diversity of our programme means we engage more children and young people with the performing arts than any other cultural organisation in the area. In the past five years, we have sponsored 20,000 children from often severely disadvantaged backgrounds and/or living with disability to attend our pantomime, providing many with their first experience of live theatre. We are the leading provider of Assisted Performances for the Eastern region giving access to a range of artforms for people with disability.

In addition, we also run work experience weeks and have an ‘age-inclusive’ volunteer scheme which consists of a dedicated team of some 80 volunteers who work hard to make sure that everyone feels welcome when they attend a show.

Support from businesses and individuals is vital to our success.  Contact us today to find out more about the benefits of becoming a Corporate Partner: ldell@cambridgeartstheatre.com.

Our annual pantomime goes straight to the heart of the community, bringing in over 30,000 visitors from a 60-mile catchment area across its run. You can support us as a headline sponsor and benefit from:

  • Extensive exposure through communications and marketing collateral;

  • Bespoke press and PR opportunities;

  • Entertainment and hospitality benefits including complimentary ticket packages and special offers for your staff and clients;

  • Support in achieving your ongoing CSR objectives, particularly if they are focused on youth, education, community enrichment or the arts.

Our next pantomime marks the grand re-opening of the theatre following a year-long, major redevelopment. If you are interested in supporting our work and putting your business in the spotlight, please contact our Membership Manager, Luke, by email at development@cambridgeartstheatre.com.
