New Meaning Foundation

New Meaning Foundation is a social enterprise with two core missions: providing hands-on construction training for disadvantaged learners, and delivering innovative building projects from SPACE micro-homes for people who’ve experienced homelessness, to MoJo Garden Spaces and bespoke community construction.

At New Meaning Foundation (NMF), we believe in rebuilding lives through meaningful construction.
We operate on two powerful, interconnected fronts:

1. Construction Skills Training
Our training programmes support young people and adults with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), helping them gain practical construction skills, boost confidence, and work toward employment. Learners gain real-site experience, achieve qualifications across construction skills, functional skills, and maths and English. They often contribute directly to social building projects.

2. Socially Purposeful Construction
Our in-house construction team delivers innovative, personalised building solutions including:
SPACE micro-homes: high-quality, insulated homes for people transitioning out of homelessness
MOJO garden spaces: personalised outdoor spaces
Custom community projects: built with heart, and often involving our learners in the process

This two-sided model allows us to train, employ, and uplift people while addressing pressing social issues like homelessness, mental health, and youth unemployment. We work closely with local authorities, schools, charities, and housing organisations.

We are always open to partnerships — whether you're looking to support our mission, explore a CSR project, or collaborate on training or builds.

Products and services

Construction Training

New Meaning Foundation provides alternative provision education for young people with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs who are not thriving in mainstream education.

Our model combines:

  • Hands-on construction training
  • 1-to-1 personal support
  • Functional skills education (Maths & English, up to GCSE level)

Learners gain accredited qualifications, work experience, and the practical skills needed to transition into apprenticeships, employment, or further education.

How to support our Alternative Provision:

  • Refer relevant learners through schools, local authorities or SEND teams.
  • Partner with us to enhance learner opportunities through work placements or mentorship.
  • Fund or donate equipment to enhance our training capacity.
MoJo SPACE Garden Studio

The MoJo SPACE Garden Studio is a high-quality, bespoke modular studio built by young people in our training programme. Designed for use many uses, MoJo SPACE Garden Studios are commonly used as home offices, creative spaces, or quiet retreats. Each studio is hand-built with care, craftsmanship, and purpose.

By commissioning a MoJo SPACE Garden Studio, customers are investing in more than just a building; they’re supporting the employment, training, and confidence-building of young people facing serious life challenges. Every studio sold sustains our mission to provide meaningful work, new skills, and brighter futures.

How to support the MoJo Studio project:

  • Commission a studio for your garden or workplace.
  • Share our work or our name to like-minded individuals or companies.
  • Gift a studio to a school, charity, or community group in need.
SPACE Micro-Homes

New Meaning Foundation’s SPACE Micro-Homes are modern, energy-efficient modular homes designed to provide safe, dignified housing for individuals who have experienced homelessness. Each home is constructed by young people from disadvantaged backgrounds as part of their hands-on construction training. This turns each project into a pathway to personal growth, employment, and social impact.

These homes are not just affordable, sustainable living spaces, but they also represent a transformative opportunity for learners and residents alike.

How you can support the SPACE Micro-Homes project:

  • Partner with us to co-develop a site for SPACE Micro-Homes
  • Partner with us to fund the building of a SPACE Micro-Homes site
  • Provide land or collaborate on planning and logistics.
  • Spread awareness and help us connect with charities, councils or housing providers who can help fill and manage homes.

Your involvement helps us break cycles of poverty and homelessness one home, and one learner, at a time.
