Victoria Kelly, who was voted the Team Player of the Month for being a good team leader, supporting the team with her hot drink making and baking, chose this charity after her mum used their support following two bone marrow transplants at Addenbrooke’s.
"Mum loved having the ‘reiki lady’ visit her once a week. It was a relaxing break from treatment and a different face to see."
The centre offers six complementary therapies which include aromatherapy and reflexology, and patients are offered six free counselling sessions. Other support includes lifestyle and health strategies, support groups and a drop-in centre where patients and their families are welcomed with coffee, tea and friendly staff. The centre does not receive any funds from the NHS so Victoria felt that this was a worthy cause.
