In its commitment to environmental sustainability, Mills & Reeve will adhere to SBTi's recommendations by focusing on improving data quality and calculation methodologies. The firm will particularly emphasise refining data collection methods to replace spend-based data with primary data.
Additionally, in collaboration with the Legal Sustainability Alliance, Mills & Reeve is leading industry-wide innovations to reduce emissions from business travel and commuting. By working together, they aim to foster sustainable practices across the legal sector.

Mills & Reeve commits to reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2025, as well as:
• Reducing absolute scope 1 and 2 Emissions 55% by 2033 from a 2023 base year
• Committing to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 33% within the same timeframe
• Further committing to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions beyond the minimum boundary from business travel and employee commuting 33% within the same timeframe
Their long-term targets include:
• Reducing absolute scope 1 and 2 Emissions 90% by 2050 from a 2023 base year
• Committing to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 90% within the same timeframe
• Further committing to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions beyond the minimum boundary from business travel and employee commuting 90% within the same timeframe
