Matt Humphries - New Head of Partnerships, Public Affairs & Engagement

Sustainable Tech 4 Good (ST4G) has been on an amazing journey since 2020, when we developed our solutions as a response to the pandemic, using our expertise in secure data erasure, repair and reuse to make a real difference to digital exclusion in our communities, while supporting sustainable reuse.

We have since gone from strength to strength, and have helped well over 7,000 individuals, through more than 130 charity and NFP partners across a wide demographic of need. This has made a real difference to people’s life chances, while promoting links between business and local communities, and making a positive impact on our environment with 1.5m kg of CO2 emissions and almost 12,000 kg of e-waste prevented. We also sell sustainable, affordable tech through our growing Tech 4 Change online site, enabling more people to purchase tech, while also helping generate donations to people who have no means to purchase themselves.

We've been able to achieve this both with the help of an excellent ST4G team, who work tirelessly behind the scenes, and with the help of many strong partnerships. As an exciting part of our growth, and to help us achieve even more in the coming year, we are delighted to welcome Matt Humphries to bolster our ST4G team, who joins as our new Head of Partnerships, Public Affairs and Engagement.

Already a familiar face to many in the Cambridge community, Matt has worked in the Science Tech sector for over 25 years, specialising in community engagement, strategic partnerships and business development. His career began as a researcher at the Wellcome Genome Campus, where he was part of the Human Genome Project team, before moving over to science support and building a solid reputation in STEM events, outreach and engagement. He has supported multiple science parks and research institutes across the region, as well as Cambridge University, and often works with local schools and colleges to promote and encourage careers in STEM.

Sustainable Tech 4 Good were first introduced to Matt through the Get Synergised Network, as he was leading a project to provide free Tech Support Roadshows to local communities in Cambridgeshire. His passion to address digital exclusion, poverty and isolation caught our attention, and our shared values soon led to further collaborations and a common goal to provide sustainable tech for all.

We’re excited to have Matt on board as we continue to build powerful collaborations and grow ST4G’s impact across the region!

If you would like to join the Sustainable Digital Inclusion Revolution™ and have your excess tech repurposed for sustainable reuse, the collection and service is cost-neutral, we provide secure data erasure of all storage with full certification, and your devices will be deployed back into your local community to support digital inclusion, enabling your company to make a BIG social impact.
