The successful candidate will always maintain hygiene and food safety standards and follow all food safety and health and safety policies in place. They will listen carefully and take great care in following instructions and guidance from Chef de Partie and Senior Chefs.
They will have a can-do attitude towards learning, progression and developing their skills and carry out additional duties as requested by the Head Chef or Senior Chef on duty.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To prepare, cook and present food as directed by the Head Chef / Sous Chef across all the College’s kitchen operations.
- To be very flexible in your approach to duties, assisting in all kitchen sections to ensure the professional and prompt delivery of food related services.
- To always maintain hygiene and food safety standards and to follow all food safety and health and safety policies in place.
- To listen carefully and take great care in following instructions and guidance from Chef de Partie and Senior Chefs.
- To maximise the safe usage of food, ensure stock rotation is enforced within all kitchen sections and minimise food wastage.
- To assist Chef de Partie in delivering food services as requested.
- To have a can-do attitude towards learning, progression and developing their skills.
- To proactively monitor food stock level and highlight any ordering that needs doing to senior chefs and store person.
- To communicate well within the kitchen and with the wider catering team to ensure services are running well.
- To carry out additional duties as requested by the Head Chef or Senior Chef on duty.
- To fully comply with all the College’s policies and procedures.
