42 Technology secures The Queen’s Award for Enterprise as international sales soar

42 Technology, the technology innovation and product development consultancy, has been awarded The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the international trade category on the back of significant and sustained year on year growth in export sales over a six-year period.

The company’s total annual turnover has more than doubled over the six-year qualification period whereas its international sales have increased almost six-fold.  Export is now a fundamental part of 42 Technology’s business development and growth strategy, and in 2016 accounted for 65% of total annual turnover.

“42 Technology has become a shining example of what the UK can offer to international companies looking for help with the design and development of innovative technologies and products, or to solve challenging manufacturing or other technical issues.  We have helped develop several award-winning products for some of our international clients but The Queen’s Award for Enterprise is the first time our own success has been so directly recognised.  The award is a significant endorsement for the whole team and will help underscore our credibility when presenting to new UK and overseas clients,” said Jeremy Carey, managing director of 42 Technology.

42 Technology has grown considerably over the last few years as a direct result of its growing reputation and success in international markets, particularly in the US, Germany, Sweden and Switzerland.  The company has consistently won larger and longer-term strategic projects from many of its existing clients; has significantly expanded its client list; and in early 2016 doubled the size of its development laboratories to accommodate the larger-scale test or prototype manufacturing systems that are now being built for clients.

42 Technology works for all sizes of businesses from start-ups developing their first products through to some of the world’s best-known business and consumer brands.  The company’s client base spans five industry sectors – consumer, industrial, healthcare, energy and transport – giving it an expansive view of the technology landscape.

The Queen’s Award for Enterprise is the highest official award that can be given to any British business.  It recognises a company’s contribution to UK exports while also looking at its role within the local community, its environmental impact, and the quality of its relationships with suppliers, partners, employees and customers.
