AIM Altitude revitalises fleet of Challenger 600s

With over 10 years of experience in the finishing of aircraft interior components with high-class decorative finishes, AIM Altitude has been working with a local aircraft business entrepreneur to revitalise the interiors of a fleet of Challenger 600 series aircraft.

The ChameleonTM process used by AIM Altitude’s Composites division complements the modern look achieved throughout the rest of the previously ageing models. The finishing has brought them into line with the look of the latest desirable executive aircraft.

Due to its versatility, the ChameleonTM process has been used to enhance the look of a whole range of aircraft, from the Boeing work horses - the B747s and B737s - through to the Boeing 777 and Airbus A320, and the latest modern and sleek A380s and B787s.

The variety of finishes available with this process have been used by some high-profile customers within the commercial aviation sector to change the look of an aircraft’s interior in a number of ways: from individual areas and compartments, to sections within the aircraft interior, or complete aircraft interiors.

The process has several advantages over the more traditional option of veneering. Importantly, it has very little effect on the weight of the components, and it has better FST characteristics, which are able to meet the particularly high requirements for commercial aircraft. Along with this, ChameleonTM flexibility makes it easier to use and more successful on profiled contours. As with veneering, this process is able to achieve a very high gloss finish. In addition, however, customers can also opt for the more subtle satin finish, or a matt finish for the natural wood effect.
