Carter Jonas Bradshaws, Tesco Bar Hill, Cooper Lomaz, HSBC, and Arcus Global have already confirmed teams.
The event is a lighthearted yet competitive way for local businesses to come together and raise money for the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity. The blend of teambuilding and business networking brings together likeminded companies from across the city to battle it out for the title.
The event, which was first launched in 2012, will see Method, Milton Country Park, Living Sport, Arthur Rank and StepOut4Adventure come together to host the event. Outdoor experience company StepOut4Adventure will provide all equipment whilst Living Sport will coordinate the event.
Simon Fairhill, Living Sport’s CEO, said: “Wacky Races is the perfect way to demonstrate the importance of sport within the business community. It presents local businesses with the opportunity to explore teamwork, develop new skills and achieve success together.”
Businesses taking part in Wacky Races are asked to make a £500 pledge, of which 90 per cent goes directly to the fundraising campaign for the new Arthur Rank Hospice. Last year, the event raised more than £2,616 for the current hospice, and proceeds from this year’s event will go towards building a new hospice, due to open this summer.
Arthur Rank Hospice’s chief executive, Lynn Morgan, commented: “Wacky Races is always an adrenaline-fuelled afternoon, full of vibrant challenges and opportunities for local businesses to come together and compete. Last year was extremely competitive so we’d like even more teams to take part and compete for the coveted title of 2015 champion!”
There are still places available. To take part, visit methodcreative.co.uk/wackyraces or call Method on 01223 781220.
