Anglia Ruskin’s Enterprise Society is a student led volunteer group that inspires students, and also the public, entering the entrepreneurial world. They organise extra-curriculum events and business support services for progressive entrepreneurs.
It is a developing society, and the only society that delves into entrepreneurial world at Anglia Ruskin. Student led volunteers and the public are able to gain an education from this. This team is dedicated to bring external speakers and support for individuals who want to learn more about the process of building their own businesses, where the main aim is to help promote and help develop.
The organisation helps to motivate and develop people’s business ideas, providing them with vital information. It includes articles with detailed content and workshops that help people with insightful information, relevant to their businesses.
It is evident here that they are a team that is determined to create a pathway for these upcoming entrepreneurs. The society wants to be able to promote what people’s businesses are about, but also create events that allow people to explore what it available to them. They carve their entrepreneurial journey.
They are here to help develop businesses and start-ups, starting with the provision of workshops. International distribution is one workshop that has been established at Anglia Ruskin. It is a workshop that is useful for giving advice with the understanding of importing and exporting products, by developing the business's supply chain in a practical manner. This workshop will be delivered in partnership with Taus Nohrlind, Chairman of the IoD Cambridgeshire and Managing Director of Guide2Growth, on 27th April 2016.
The society has developed relationships with institutions such as the Institute of Directors and the Future Business Centre, where they have collaborated with both of them. The society shares events with these two companies, creating networking opportunities. The Institute of Directors also grants the Enterprise Society members a £25 discount on their annual student membership.
There are many events that happen at Anglia Ruskin University. Big Pitch is a significant business idea-pitching event that works with internal and external organisations, where the Enterprise Society is directly linked. It is one of the biggest events at Anglia Ruskin University, where they look for dedicated students across the board, with exciting new ideas to give them the support that they need to make this happen, and win up to £10,000 for their business. Every year, a variety of people enter from illustrators, performers to computer gaming, all students that enter this competition.
The Enterprise Society is here to promote and support start-up businesses across the board, where our student volunteers challenge themselves throughout the year to organise high quality events. These volunteers are here to support, motivate, develop and promote enterprising members, helping them with their entrepreneurial journey.
