Anglian Water announces partnership with Breast Cancer Now

Anglian Water announces a new partnership with the UK’s first comprehensive breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now, the research and care charity.

Every year, more than 8,500 people in the Anglian Water region are diagnosed with breast cancer – that’s someone nearly every hour. That is why Anglian Water and Breast Cancer Now have teamed up this Breast Cancer Awareness Month and beyond to raise vital funds for the charity’s world-class research and life-changing care, as well as raising awareness of this devastating disease amongst customers and colleagues.

Anglian Water staff members will be showing their support throughout the year with a host of planned activities including challenges and fundraising events and will be holding various activities at their water parks during the next 12 months.

Bethanie Kennedy, Anglian Water’s Partnership Coordinator said, “We are partnering with Breast Cancer Now to help raise awareness of the charity’s information and support services to help ensure our customers affected by breast cancer get help with the financial, physical and emotional impact of the disease. We are hoping to raise awareness through our events and help raise vital funds for the charity to continue with their important research and support.”

Sarah Canniford, Head of Account Management at Breast Cancer Now said, “We are really thrilled to be partnering with Anglian Water this year in what promises to be a really exciting partnership.

“Despite decades of progress in research and care, breast cancer remains the most common cancer in the UK - 11,500 women and 80 men still die from breast cancer each year in the UK, with hundreds of thousands more living with the devastating, long-term physical and emotional impacts of the disease.

“Breast Cancer Now is here for anyone affected by breast cancer, the whole way through, providing support for today and hope for the future. It’s thanks to companies like Anglian Water and the generosity of staff and loyal customers, that we can continue towards our ambition that, by 2050, everyone who develops breast cancer will live and be supported to live well.”

Anglian Water offers additional practical support to customers, including those with serious or long-term illnesses with their Priority Service Register (PSR).
