Ashtons expands its specialist Asbestos disease team

Ashtons Legal is delighted to announce the appointment of Solicitor Martyn Hayward, an Asbestos Disease Specialist.

Martyn has been dealing with asbestos related disease claims for more than 15 years, but also has an industrial background having previously worked for 25 years as an electrician.  He is a qualified Solicitor and is recognised by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) as a Senior Litigator and as an Accredited Asbestos and Occupational Disease specialist.

Martyn is based in Ashtons’ Cambridge office alongside Phoebe Osborne, a fellow Asbestos Disease Solicitor who joined the firm in 2016. Both Martyn and Phoebe work alongside the firm’s well established personal injury teams in Ipswich, Thetford and Bury St Edmunds.

Martyn is a member of the Anglia Asbestos Diseases Support Groups and works closely with health care professionals, voluntary organisations and charities to help provide clients with help beyond simply monetary compensation. He deals with all types of asbestos related disease claims, including the fatal conditions of Mesothelioma and asbestos related lung cancer. He regularly attends inquests on behalf of the families of sufferers, helping to guide them through the process of bringing a claim on behalf of the Estate. Martyn also acts for clients who have contracted non-malignant asbestos related diseases such as asbestosis and pleural thickening.

Richard Foyster, Partner, and Head of Personal Injury at Ashtons said: “We are delighted to welcome Martyn to the team and are pleased, once again, to be attracting so much specialist talent to the firm. His recruitment is an important part of our strategy to continue to grow our asbestos team across East Anglia, helping to gain a fair result for our clients and to raise public awareness of the dangers of asbestos related disease”.

Martyn Hayward said: “I am very excited to join Ashtons and am looking forward to working with Phoebe, Richard and the wider team to support clients, family members, carers and members of the Anglia Asbestos Diseases Support Group which Ashtons set up alongside national charity Mesothelioma UK”.
