For only KES 99 per day, rural off-grid customers can enjoy Zuku satellite Smart+ entertainment with an unrivalled 54 TV and 21 radio channels on an optimised 24-inch screen. The powerful solar system also includes four bright home lights, mobile-phone charging and a rechargeable radio and torch.

Customers can walk into any Mobicom store and sign up, and staff will install the Azuri TV system and demonstrate its use. Weekly payments can be made using mobile money.

Joseph Ndirangu, an Azuri TV customer from Ndaragwa, explained how the whole family loves the Azuri TV. “I watch news and documentaries while the kids enjoy CBeebies and my wife has her religious and soap channels. It really makes us feel that we are living in the city!”

Azuri’s CEO Simon Bransfield-Garth said: “Since we launched last year, many customers have told us Azuri’s Solar TV has changed their lives. I am delighted that with Mobicom we can now make Azuri TV available to more people anywhere- from Lamu to Kisumu and Kajiado to Lodwar.”
