BACTEST has signed a global exclusive distribution agreement with Goltens to sell Speedy Breedy in to the Ballast Water Testing Market.
Under this agreement Goltens will sell Speedy Breedy through its global network of stations to ship owners, ballast water treatment system (BWTS) manufacturers, port state authorities and ultimately the US Coast Guard.
In anticipation of ratification of the IMO Ballast Water Convention over 2000 ships have installed BWTS and Speedy Breedy is the only instrument on the market that can be used on ships or in port to test for compliance with the IMO standard for the 3 bacteria set out in the standard: Vibrio Cholera, E.Coli and Enterococci.
Over the next few years up to 90,000 ships will be mandated to comply with IMO regulations.
