Medicom has launched a new strategic unit in Cambridge UK. Cambridge has been selected as the next important step in Medicom’s global expansion. It has a unique position and reputation as a dominant Drug Delivery Device cluster and this matches Medicom’s growth plans in every respect.
The strategic unit in Cambridge will initially be focused on the business development and commercial activities as well as Medicom’s strategic front-end consulting business. The Cambridge unit which was launched on 1 February 2015 will be fully integrated with the Danish operations to form the global market-facing organisation.
The plan is to have 4-6 employees in Cambridge before the end of 2015. The selective UK recruitment has already been initiated and the focus is on senior business development and senior front-end innovation consultants with a strong background within Drug Delivery Devices.
Medicom strengthens and expands the global leadership team
Medicom is pleased to announce that Andrew Diston joined the business on 1. February as Executive Vice President with the global responsibility for all commercial activities and the strategic front-end consulting business. Andrew Diston will also be responsible for the build-up of the Cambridge unit and for the senior recruitments in the UK. Andrew joins Medicom with significant experience from the Medical Device and Drug Delivery Devices business. During the last 20 years Andrew have been a key player in building the Medical Technology business at Cambridge Consultants both in the UK and in the US.
The restructuring of the global leadership team also means that Executive Vice President Soren Vestergaard Jacobsen will take on a focused global responsibility for the business related to Technology, Innovation and Development. Soren Vestergaard Jacobsen have been a part of Medicom’s leadership team for more than 14 years and have significant insight and experience with all technical, innovative and development related aspects of the business. This will overall strengthen the global leadership team and the strategic execution of Medicom.
