In addition to this, Best Companies have awarded Bard 3 Star accreditation status, the highest star rating possible, and they are the only company from Cambridge to achieve this.
This year 897 companies applied to secure a place in one of the three Sunday Times lists (small, mid-sized and large companies), making it the most competitive year yet. Bard’s inclusion in this year’s list is a huge achievement and highlights a strong level of engagement within the company.
Colm Moody, Bard’s Director of Production and Supply Chain, said, “I’m really delighted with this result. I believe that it shows the emphasis we place on our culture is justified. We have great people here at Bard, highly committed to producing quality products for our patients. For us to be truly successful in what we do, we must understand the factors that create engagement and how we can deliver on our aim of Bard being a great place to work. Taking part in the Best Companies survey helps us to do that.”
The Sunday Times Top 100 and star accreditation are both derived from The Best Companies survey, which assesses companies’ performance and best practice within eight key factors: Leadership, My Manager, Personal Growth, Wellbeing, My Team, My Company, Giving Something Back and Fair Deal. The survey, completed anonymously, allows employees to give their honest opinions, providing organisations with detailed information about workplace engagement.
Mike Mair, Bard’s Head of Training and Organisational Development, said, “We’ll be using the data from the Best Companies survey to help us to continue to develop our culture. It allows us to benchmark our performance against other organisations and compare our own performance over time.” Some of the notable results taken from the survey included:
- 91% of Bard’s employee’s said they feel proud to work for the organisation.
- 92% said they believe they can make a valuable contribution to the success of the organisation.
- 86% said my organisation makes a positive difference to the world we live in.
- 88% of Bard’s employees said that the organisation is run on strong values/principles.
- 90% felt that this organisation provides great service to its customers and clients.
