Bidwells raises £63,955 for EACH as part of its 175th anniversary celebrations

Leading property consultancy firm Bidwells has raised an unprecedented £63,955 for East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) as part of its 175th anniversary year.

Throughout the celebratory year, Bidwells, which has its head office in Trumpington Road, Cambridge, has been taking part in a host of fundraising activities.

In total the firm, which has 13 offices across England and Scotland has raised more than £144,000 for its five chosen children's hospice charities.

Fundraising at the Cambridge office has included a salsa event, a canoeing event, cake sales, a rowing and also a kayak challenge, Bidstock, a race night, quizzes, a cook book and many more events during the year.

In total the Cambridge office raised almost £38,000 for EACH.

Richard Pilsworth, head of the Cambridge office said: "It is quite overwhelming to think that as a firm we have raised £144,000 for various charities and the money still keeps rolling in.

"In Cambridge our team really got into the spirit of fundraising and everyone has been participating in some really wonderful events to raise money for EACH.

"I would like thank everyone who supported us throughout the year to help us reach this fantastic total. It has been an honour to raise this money for such an extraordinary and worthwhile charity which helps so many children and young people.

"As a result of our fundraising, one thing we found was that it really brought everyone closer together."

Graham Butland, Chief Executive of EACH, said: “We are so impressed with the huge sum that Bidwells has raised as part of their 175th anniversary. This amount demonstrates the dedication shown by all those at Bidwells across the region and I would like to personally thank each and every one of them for the part they have played in this fundraising.

“Commitment from businesses is so important to the work we do, without support from companies such as Bidwells we wouldn’t be able to continue the vital work we do caring for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across East Anglia. I hope this story will inspire other businesses to think about how they could support EACH in the future.”
