Bidwells has once again been named top of EGi’s Cambridge office market and has beaten off competition to stay clear in first place for the 10th year in a row.

The team has disposed of 676,971 sq ft in the last 12 months to June 2016, according to EGi Research.

Two of the deals totalling 343,000 sq ft made up of  – 188,000 sq ft which was prelet to ARM at Peterhouse Technology Park and 155,000 sq ft prelet to Illumina at Granta Park.

However, despite the two major deals the team still managed to secure a further 62 other deals during the same period.

Overall take-up for the Cambridge market rocketed up to 949,409 sq ft up by an amazing 66.3% on last year, but the number of deals fell by almost 10%.

Dick Wise, Head of Business Space, said: “Despite a reduction in the number of deals being done overall take-up was at record levels. With a significant number of transactions now in negotiation in the next 12 months, it looks even more exciting, which is testament to the Cambridge market in these economically uncertain times.

“We are delighted we have been named top of the league table as it is an exceptionally competitive market, and our ranking is demonstration of the continued hard work of everyone in the Business Space Team.”
