Birketts advises on sale of leading order and warehouse management solutions provider Mintsoft Limited

Birketts has advised the owners of leading order and warehouse management solutions business, Mintsoft Limited, on its sale to prominent software provider, The Access Group.

Founded in 2011, Chelmsford-based Mintsoft is known for its innovative approach to logistics, using cloud technology to help hundreds of multi-channel retailers and third party businesses to despatch millions of packages annually. Relied upon by many of the UK’s online retailers, Mintsoft is one of the most influential order management systems in the country. Specialising in order management, shipping management and 3PL fulfilment accounting, it is hoped that the acquisition of Mintsoft will not only enable Access to extend their current offering, but increase their market appeal.

The transaction was led by Adam Jones and James Stocker (Corporate), with support from John Kahn (Tax) and Clare Barlow (Employment).

Luke Groves, MD and founder of Mintsoft Limited, commented: “With the growth of ecommerce, Mintsoft has worked hard to provide companies with efficient and affordable fulfilment solutions and I am very proud of what my team - and the company as a whole - have achieved. Now established as a market leader, we are delighted to embark on this new chapter, and hope that Access’ acquisition will open up new opportunities for all involved.”

Luke added: “I could not be happier with the Birketts team for their work with us in successfully completing our transaction. Their support was outstanding – always friendly and helpful, but never afraid to act commercially to address the key issues.  Their availability and responsiveness kept us reassured throughout the process.”

Adam Jones, Corporate Partner at Birketts, concluded: “The UK has seen rapid growth of ecommerce take place across the business community, requiring excellent order management solutions, which Mintsoft have developed with great success.  Birketts were particularly delighted to support Luke and Mark on this transaction, they have achieved so much in a short space of time and now, as part of the Access Group, both Mintsoft and Access will be able to expand so much more.”

Lambert Chapman (Paul Short and Richard Thomson) advised the sellers on accounting and financial issues relating to the transaction.
