The Birketts team was led by Partner Quentin Golder (Corporate) (pictured) and Associate Samantha Woodley (Corporate), with support from Legal Director Nick Pickersgill (Commercial Property), Senior Associate John Khan (Corporate Tax) and Associate Josie Beal (Employment). Corporate finance advice was provided by Grant Thornton.

Viridian Solar, based in Cambridge with more than 18 years’ experience in the industry, has its own solar roofing system which has been installed in homes and businesses across the UK and Europe. Viridian has a reputation as an innovate, high-quality manufacturer, and introduced their Clearline Fusion roofing systems to the market in 2015, quickly becoming the UK’s market leading roof integrated solar PV system.

The sale expands on the existing trading relationship between Viridian Solar and Marley. The company will continue to trade as a standalone entity with the same management team, led by existing CEO Stuart Elmes.

Speaking after the sale, Quentin said: “It was great to work with Stuart and the team at Viridian Solar and we wish them all the best in the future moving forward with Marley. The existing relationship with Marley should foster a smooth integration of the company into the wider Marley group, and the broader commercial opportunities that presents.”

Stuart Elmes, Viridian Solar CEO, added: “The Birketts team were instrumental in the smooth completion of the sale process and I thank Quentin, Samantha and the team for all their hard work. We are looking forward to an exciting future working with our new colleagues at Marley and pushing forwards with our ambitious growth plans.”
