Birketts appoints two Senior Associates

Birketts has announced the appointment of Sarah Overy as a Senior Associate in its esteemed Family team and Gillian Creed as a Senior Associate in its highly reputable Banking Team. Both Sarah and Gillian are based in Birketts’ Cambridge office, but will support colleagues across all four offices in Cambridge, Chelmsford, Ipswich and Norwich.

Sarah (pictured left) qualified in 1996 and has over 25 years’ experience in Family law guiding clients through cases across all areas of family and matrimonial law, including same sex marriage, civil partnerships, children and parenting, divorce and financial disputes.

As well as dealing with an array of complex and sensitive matters including pre and post nuptial agreements, Sarah is a highly experienced accredited Mediator who helps couples to reach realistic and practical solutions during separation, particularly where children are involved.

Gillian (right) qualified in 2004 and has over 12 years’ experience as a banking solicitor acting for a wide range of clients, including borrowers and lenders. Prior to joining Birketts, Gillian trained at a London-based global law firm, where she gained experience acting on leveraged finance and conventional lending transactions. Following this, Gillian worked in-house for a bank, providing commercially focussed legal advice on a broad range of lending matters.
