Formed in 1969 by Allan Pierce, premier plumbing distribution company, APP, supplies independent plumbing and heating merchants with specialist products. Based in Dagenham, the company is comprised of four divisions including retail and stores, distribution, brands and import and plumbing and heating.
The acquisition of APP’s majority shareholding is set to boost LGT Ltd’s distribution capabilities, with Mr. Pierce set to retain his status as chairman of APP on completion of the deal. With over 50 years’ experience in the industry, Allan brings a wealth of knowledge to LGT Ltd, as well as a clear understanding of the “family equity” model they favour.
The transaction was led by Adam Jones (pictured), along with Alex Forwood and Tom Utting (Corporate), Karl Pocock and John Kahn (Tax), Matt Grindley (Commercial Property) and Clare Barlow (Employment).
