Blinkpipe's PhoneCamHD improves efficiency and output for SMEs

Blinkpipe has launched a new high quality, big screen, affordable telepresence solution.

BlinkPipe has launched PhoneCamHD to provide high quality, big screen telepresence at a low monthly subscription with no long-term contract.

For SMEs with a small work force, every hour counts and travelling between offices, or meeting with suppliers and clients is not always an efficient use of time.  According to the CBI’s recent SME Trends Survey, SMEs were hit by continued falling output in the first three months of 2013.

Using video conferencing to interact with colleagues at different offices, or suppliers and clients, rather than wasting hours travelling between meetings is a tangible way of improving efficiency and output.

Simon Galbraith, CEO at Red Gate Software is one of BlinkPipe’s first customers. He explains, “We wanted to be able to interact with our staff around the world in the richest, most powerful way possible. We chose BlinkPipe because we loved the concept: a video conference call that takes no more energy or effort than a telephone call.

"I use PhoneCamHD to hold company meetings with our entire US office. Having a widescreen HD picture on a big TV means that I get instant feedback on how my message is coming across in a way that’s just not possible with lower-fidelity video chat. The fact that PhoneCamHD uses our stable phone system also means that I never have to worry that I’m not being heard, and I’m never interrupted mid-flow with, “Can you say that again? You just cut out.”

Dave Gwilt, Director at BlinkPipe said: “Our £49 price point has been pitched to make PhoneCamHD affordable for SMEs.  There is no long term contract and users can connect their phone and TV in minutes and start a video call straight away by simply dialling.   It combines the reliability and simplicity of a phone call with HD video.  PhoneCamHD uses customers' existing telephone systems for voice, and sends video in HD over the internet at a much higher quality than that of a standard webcam.”

He continued, “Ease of use has been a critical element of the product; SMEs don’t typically have the benefit of an IT department to help troubleshoot any issues, so developing a product that was easy to use and could be set up in minutes was critical. PhoneCamHD is so simple to install and use it should be a breath of fresh air in an otherwise complex and expensive video conferencing market.”

The use of video conferencing is soaring in popularity, with many businesses opting to use it in place of face-to-face meetings. Recent industry estimates suggest that video conferencing is being used by 42 per cent of businesses, compared with 26 per cent ten years ago.

As a start up company, BlinkPipe is running a launch offer on PhoneCamHD for one month in two meeting rooms for less than £100. For details on this offer please click here.
